The Unsung HeroInspiration That Will Never Die
There’s always lots of information about warriors, strength, tenacity, adversity and of course the ability to overcome every obstacle you’ll ever encounter in both the media and the strength world. What I want to talk about today and forever in my lifetime is my brother Jimmy. If you’re a regular listener to Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 you’ve had the honor of meeting Jimmy through the show. This goes much deeper than the show, though.
As I sit here typing out my thoughts about my brother and can’t help but think how blessed we all were who have ever made contact with this extraordinary human being. A teacher in every respect he was. He was the ultimate leader, doer and never a crier. A young man who was way ahead of his time though short left me with an admiration I have for no one else. Jimmy was and always will be my example. He exemplified every word we here today and of yesterday and led it quietly. That is the hallmark of a winner. Just think how blessed we all are who have had his honor amongst all of our friends and family who will get to enjoy my brother’s legacy forever. Jimmy is what I call a cold drink of success!
Fiorillo Barbell Co. and Motivation and Muscle are our two websites and business dedicated to my brother James Thomas Fiorillo. Jimmy was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy as a young boy. He couldn’t do many of the things the other kids could do. Jimmy eventually became wheelchair-bound. My parents never let his handicap stop him from attending school with all the neighborhood kids and just being part of whatever everyone was doing. I’m sure their love and dedication to him kept him with us longer than anyone expected. Jimmy passed away a lifetime ago to me. I can still see him sitting in his wheelchair on a warm summer day, enjoying watching all of us play. I used to think of how painful it must have been for him to have to sit there and watch, but I never heard a complaint. I will always dedicate myself to his perseverance, trust and never-ending zeal for life. I am and will always be proud to call Jimmy my brother. Love, Eric
PS: I know when we meet again I will see you standing with arms wide open!
